Storyline - black player frame inconsistent

Feb 03, 2022

Hi,

I noticed that when exporting a storyline with an image in the player and adding it to Rise as an interactive block, the player sometimes has a broad black frame. When exporting the SL again and adding it to Rise, the player then has a narrow black frame. When exporting once more, the player has a broad frame again, and so on... I attach some screenshots so you can see what I mean.

There should be no reason for that, since I don't change any player settings. Can you check if that is some sort of a bug that can be solved quickly?

By the way, is it possible to remove the black frame, or at lease recolor it in the corporate colors or to white?

Thanks for reaching out, Iris!

It sounds like you are experiencing a possible bug we have logged where cover photo shows black bars at the top and bottom regardless of whether the player controls are disabled.

I'm sorry this is affecting you! I've added this discussion to the report, so you'll get notified when we have any updates: How we tackle bugs.

Hi, Iris!

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 77, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the enhancements we've included:

  • Set your cover photo to fill the player frame. Enable it in the player properties.

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!
