Storyline changing timelines, position of text boxes, etc.

Aug 20, 2014

Looking through the forums, I don't see anyone else with this problem, but it's driving me crazy.

Storyline seems to randomly, all on its own, add time to timelines, change position of objects, and other gremlin-like maneuvers. I will check all timelines, publish, and find that some slides are "hanging" (custom navigation), only to find that 5+ seconds have been added to the timelines.

After publishing the file yesterday, QC noted missing Titles, and when I checked, they were off screen. I can assure you that I did not place them there. Is it possible that I moved them with an inadvertent drag? On several screens? I've thought of that but it seems unlikely that would happen on several screens to the exact same position.

Either there is something strange with this file, with Storyline, or there are gremlins in the computer I'm using.

I can't share the file (serious security and NDA), but I wonder if this has cropped up and if anyone has any thoughts. Right now, I get tense publishing the file because I don't know what's going to happen along the way. I feel like I'm in a bad sci-fi movie.

Thanks for any input y'all may have.

Hi Susan!

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources.

Also, be sure that you are working with 100% zoom in your projects
