storyline course mobile experience

Oct 27, 2016

Hello

In testing my course in iPhone, the initial screen that displays is this unappealing gray box image:

Upon clicking the image, it launches the course, but that gray box is very unsightly.  Can I change that image to something that is in line with the design of my course?

Also, when I tested it on Android, it prompted me to install the Articulate App. How can I force Android to also use the HTML5 version and not the app?

Suggestions?

I also notice that any interactions that I created using a hover trigger are wonky on iPhone. My presumption is that it's best to avoid hover triggers for this reason, due to lack of true "hover" ability on mobile devices?

Thanks.

Hi Karen!

Thanks for reaching out here. There isn't a supported way to remove that play button screen when launching mobile Storyline 2 content but you're more than welcome to share your thoughts with our Product Development team here regarding this.

I'm not sure if other users have been able to come up with a way to remove it, but if so perhaps someone in the community will be able to pop in with a solution that suits your needs.

As for your question about the Articulate Mobile Player, when you publish your course you'll want to make sure that the box labeled Use Articulate Mobile Player for iOS or Android is unchecked and the one labeled Include HTML5 Output is checked under the Publishing for HTML5 and mobile devices section. This will force the content to launch in a browser rather than in AMP. See my screenshot below for reference.

Hope that helps, please let me know if you have further questions! :)
