using the hover trigger on android tablets / ipad tablets & iphones

Jun 09, 2017

HI everyone

I just needed some confirmation that I was doing the right thing when introducing a DOWN trigger for hover functions on ipad. I dont really understand how it works ? Does the student slide their finger over the interaction to create the "hover" effect ? will this bring up the text box/layer  I have linked it to ?

This was the thread from a few months ago

If I wanted my storyline 2 file to work on iphone are there any tutorials to explain how to do this ? I think I'm right in saying that the articulate mobile player doesn't work in the iphone is that correct ?

Hello Altan!

Have you tried using this trigger instead?

Show layer HIGH RISK FOOD Layer 2 when user clicks high risk food button 1.

With that trigger, you don't need to worry about using states at all. The layer will show when the user clicks the button.

The Articulate Mobile Player  is supported in Apple iOS 7 or later on iPad, but you won't need it for iPhone. Instead, you can view the course directly in Safari.

Let me know if that helps!

Hi Alyssa, I've attached an example file, which in HTML5 I cant get any of the drag & drop exercises to work. In AMP the you tube video continues to the next video rather than as the instruction says don't play the next video ( in HTML5 I dont get this problem )

I know I have 2 queries open and the you recently replied regarding the you tube on the 2 nd query, which related to you tube playback issues. It is in AMP where I have the you tube playback issues as described above

Hi Altan,

Thank you for sharing your file with me. I'm seeing exactly what you described--the drag and drop interactions work in Flash, but not in HTML5. I'm not seeing anything in your file that would cause this to happen, so I'm going to have our Support Engineers weigh in. I'll share your file with them, and you'll hear back shortly.

Also, I can see you were working with Angelo on the issue with the YouTube video in AMP, so I'll let him know you're still having trouble. He'll follow up soon!
