Often I need to access a Story file for viewing purposes. I exit without saving, yet the Date Modified of the file is updated to the current date/time.
This is annoying, because I need to know when the file was actually modified last.
This only happens for Story files, so it's not like there's a problem with my computer.

You are correct; what you're experiencing is a bug that was already resolved in a recent Storyline release. Update your Storyline 360 version to Build 3.74.30180.0 or later to enjoy the fix for this issue. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
