Storyline File Won't Play in Chrome

Mar 03, 2018

I am using Storyline 3.  When I try to run/play my lesson to review it using the story_html5.html it won't play in Chrome but it does play in IE.  Anyone know why it doesn't play in Chrome?

I have seen posts that are over a year old about Storyline 2 but I don't use 2.  I use 3.

Great news!  We just released Update 3 for Storyline 3. This includes quite a few important fixes and some new features as well. Check out all the details in the release notes here.

The item you'll be interested in is:

Local playback of published story no longer working in Chrome version 64

Be sure to download and install the latest version of Storyline 3.

Thank you very much for the Update 3 for Storyline 3. I have installed it and can now view my lessons in Chrome.

I do have a follow-up question though. After I installed it I find that Storyline now says I have a trial version. Is there something I need to do to get this not to appear?

In parallel I have contacted our internal contact as we have Storyline deployed across our company and this is likely a problem for others.

Hi Sabine!

Glad that the update solved the issue you were having.

Adding the serial number post-update is a common expectation.

When you launch Storyline, just click Activate with your serial number when the evaluation screen appears.

It will probably auto-populate for you if you were just doing an update :)
