Storyline nav randomly doesn't load properly in Chrome

Apr 23, 2020

We have a client reviewing content on an Articulate Review site and we've noticed some strange behavior when the course is viewed in Chrome.

Occasionally the course will misfire or otherwise not load Storyline's built-in navigation. (see attached.)

We noticed this behavior once before on a completely unrelated course.

Luckily the issue seems to be fixed when the user refreshes the course, but that isn't really a solution.  We don't want learners to have to randomly refresh to get the content to appear correctly.

Any ideas on a solution?

As a point of correlation, we've only started noticing this when we started using Articulate Review. Is it possible that it is an issue with Review and Chrome?

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for reaching out!

While I haven't seen any active navigation issues with Review 360, I am happy to jump to get to the bottom of this!

Based on the description provided, it could potentially be a caching issue with the browser. To help determine what the culprit might be, it may help to test the course in SCORM Cloud to see if the issue persists in that environment. SCORM Cloud is an industry-standard testing engine, and although “SCORM” is in its name, you can also use it to test AICC, Tin Can API, and cmi5 content. You can find more details about it as well as set up a free account here:

If the course is working properly in SCORM Cloud but not in Review 360, that will help narrow down what might be causing this.

Please keep us updated on this and let us know if you have any questions!
