Storyline Notes Font Reverts to OpenSans
Nov 30, 2015

Our company default font is Arial and we are using the default player with some minor modifications.
When I publish, my Notes revert to OpenSans. What I have tried:
- Changing the theme font
- Changing the player font
- Verifying the font in the slide master(s)
- Manually changing the fonts in the Notes view in Storyline
- Exporting the text to Word, changing fonts and re-importing. This did not work either. (I also had the pleasure of having many of my text boxes show up empty after doing this...)
Any ideas?

Hi Scott,
Are you changing the notes formatting as described here? If it's not behaving as expected can you confirm that you're using the latest update of Storyline 2 Update 7 and also working on local project files?
Yes, I am editing the notes as described. We are currently using Storyline 2 Update 7: 1509.1408
I used Storyline's Check for Updates and it said no updates were available.
I've also noticed if I export the text into Word, the notes font changes to OpenSans.
And I am working locally not over a network.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for checking into those elements. It seems you're on the most recent update. I'm not sure I'm seeing the same thing as you though on publish. I put some notes text at Arial, and some slide text at Arial (on the left) and Open sans (on the right) to compare them. I published and uploaded here and it still looks like the notes text is Arial. Can you share a copy of your .story file so that I could take a look at that as well?
Ashley, I ended up rebuilding the handful of slides that were misbehaving and it looks fine now. Thanks for your help.
One oddity though--when I export the text for translation the Notes text in the doc file are always in OpenSans even though they are set to Arial. I tested this across four courses and got the same result.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for letting us know that rebuilding it worked. On the new set up were you still able to replicate that odd behavior with the export for translation? I exported as well and that also showed the font still as Arial and it didn't reset to Open sans. Do you have a sample file you could share with me here?
The exported doc showing OpenSans seems to be fairly universal here for us. Is it possible for me to send you the Storyline file privately?
Absolutely Scott - if you'd like to send it along to me you can upload it here. Please include a link to this thread as a reminder. :-)
