I have a project in Storyline and some of the content fits close to perfectly with the Engage Pyramid interaction. However, I want to add a few elements on top of it, just some additional titles from storyline that would sit on top of the engage interaction like the screenshot.
However, nothing shows up on the slide except the engage interaction. Does the engage interaction on a storyline slide overwrite all the storyline objects?
I just tried this out (hadn't attempted this before) and at first, I thought I had it working. However, it dawned on me that the objects show properly when you preview, but the Engage interaction isn't actually active in preview. After publishing, it does look like the Engage interaction overwrites the shapes/objects added by Storyline.
I did some additional detective work and found some more information on this. At this time, Engage interactions will always be brought in as web objects. And unfortunately, web objects currently overlay slide elements, including slide layers. While there's no workaround at this time, the issue doesn't seem to manifest itself in HTML5 output.
Thanks Christine, that makes sense that it impacts the visibility.
On the plus side it sounds like I can still have other things going on like a little background music looping in storyline while it's playing the engage interaction.

I hope this helps!
