I tested this by adding a screen recording to a slide, and it did import at the 1920x1080 that it was recorded at.
I want to make sure you are using the current Update of Storyline. We are currently on Update 6.
Always save and publish to your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or an external (USB) drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources.
If you continue to see this behavior, you can share the file here so we can look at the screen recording size.
I have opened a support case for you. You will receive and email shortly from Support@articulate.com. you can reply to that email to share your file with me.

Hi Emily,
I have the latest version of SL and always work from my local drive.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the template that I'm using? I grabbed it from the downloads section from the articulate site.
I can't upload my file here (keep getting a server error message).
Can I email directly to you or send via FTP?
Let me know
thanks,
...Z
