Storyline Slide Master shifts on publish

Jan 08, 2013

Hi there everybody

I have something odd happening that I can't figure out. I have a story whose size is a standard 720 x 540. I assign a layout from the master slides to a slide and place objects on the stage. It all looks good until I preview or publish when I find that the slide master has shifted 20 or so pixels up but all the objects have remained where I put them on stage. I've attached a couple of screen grabs. You can see that the coloured squares on the top right of the slide master disappear and the mans pants hang down over the edge.

Has anyone seen this before? All responses appreciated!

Hi!

Thanks so much for responding so quickly Christine and Jeff!!! This is an awesome site. When I get better with Storyline, I hope I'll be able to answer some questions here and there for people.

I've removed all the shadows from this shortened test file. (The shadows on the three big arrows are in the graphic and not rendered in Storyline.) The whole module has 25 slides and they all render with the same issue. You can see the shift when you preview or publish.

This is my 4th Storyline module. I really don't know where to look to resolve this. My master looks fine. The size is a standard size. I've not imported anything unusual into the file.

I may start over and just chalk it up to a mystery of life. There are lots of those when working with technology.

Thanks a bunch,

Mary-Lynne

Hi Mary-Lynne!

That sounds good to me! We're always happy to have new Heroes around here. We have some really talented folks here, I'm sure you'll love being part of the community

Thanks very much for the file. However, I'm not seeing the same thing, oddly enough.

Here's a screenshot of what I see in preview:

And you can take a look at the published version here.

I'm not seeing the same issue with the bottom of the character, or the bar in the top right corner.

Out of curiosity, how are you publishing and viewing the content?

Thanks again!

Christine

Thanks Christine!

However, that makes it a bunch more confusing!

I've uploaded output from the same file I sent you here that shows the shift online. It occurs for me whether I publish for LMS or web. I don't see the issue in your published files! I'm viewing both mine and yours using Firefox. I'm on a PC with Windows 7... very curious. I'm going to check and see if my Storyline needs updating.
