Storyline Slide with Video and Other Objects - Timeline Issue

Jan 17, 2018

Good Morning,

I'm using Articulate 360.

I've built a slide with a video (mp4). The slide also contains objects that enter and exit the timeline at different times. The objects do not contain entrance and exit animations. They simply appear and disappear at preset times. The slide also contains an object that changes states via triggers using time.

When I preview my project in SL, all the objects enter and exit at the correct times. When I publish my project to my desktop, our LMS, Articulate Review and the SCORM Cloud, the video plays but the object timings are completely different and double the length of the timeline.

I've spent hours reviewing the discussion boards and adjusting settings in SL360 but nothing fixes this issue. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution?

Because the content is proprietary, I'm not able to share it here.

Thank you,

David

I've submitted information using the link you provided. The project appears to work when played in Internet Explorer. We continue to encounter the issues described above when playing it in Chrome. These results are the same whether we launch it locally from the computer or from our LMS server.

This affects a Storyline file as well as a Presenter file.

I am having issues with the recent update of SL360 where the output of a slide with video has a different slide length. For instance, a 58 second slide, will play and when done there's still half a seekbar left to complete...this happens in both Preview and Published slides.

I have tried marking the mp4 to show until end and also not show until end and neither makes a difference.

Also it seems the recent update of SL360 has made Preview playback choppy and the entire app to run more sluggishly (especially when saving a project)

Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble, Robert! I'm happy to help you sort this out.

For the slide with the 58 second video, did you click and drag the end of the timeline to 58 seconds? There should be no space between the end of the video and the end of the timeline.

The troubleshooting steps should help with the sluggish behavior you're seeing. If you're still experiencing a slow-down after the repair, let me know!
