Am I right in saying that I cannot load an elearning created with Studio 13 (mainly engage) into Storyline 2 to edit unless I have paid for both Studio 13 and Storyline 2?
Each time I import, it asks me to install e.g. engage, and then requests a licence number to activate it in order for it to open into Storyline 2.
I don't understand why I should have to pay for both! Is there a way around this?
Yes, for Engage it would need to be installed and activated to be able to import projects from there.
Was there a specific interaction type you were looking to use? I know there are a number of Storyline templates based off the Engage interactions, so those may help you out! Take a look at the items here. You'll see the title indicates which version of Storyline it was created in - so you could use the ones labeled Storyline or Storyline 2.
We outsourced some elearning which was created in Studio 13, and when importing the PowerPoint/Presenter file into Storyline 2 to amend, the engage interactions were not pulling through due to not having Engage, I have now got a 30 day trial to help this, however when I import, the Engage slides are showing up with a background but no content, and labelled "(MISSING).."
I'll have no issue recreating the engage interactions but will require me to request the script/text to build it - just was looking for a quicker/more efficient solution!
If the original creator was able to publish the Engage interactions for you - you could use the method here (or publish them with the trial). That'll also ensure that they work in HTML5 and Flash!

Hi Lizzie,
Engage does need to be installed to conduct an import into Storyline. The same is not true of Presenter or Quizmaker though.
What tool do you currently have a license for?
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your reply,
When you say installed, do you mean installed and activated with a serial number?
I have a license for Storyline 2
