The "Submit Results" trigger tells the quiz to review the responses and generate a result or score. By default, this trigger is added to a Results Slide when it's created and triggers simultaneous with the results slide itself, producing (for lack of a thesaurus) the results of the quiz..
Just to add to Andrew's answer - to see the results score displayed in your course, you need to a add a Results slide and associate each quiz question you want to include in the score with the Results slide.
I don't think you can modify the Submit Results trigger but you should be able to use other triggers to manipulate variables and include the those results on the Results slide.
Do I need to add a trigger to submit the results back to the LMS or is this automatic when you publish. I have selected to track based on the results slides under options but just wanted to check there wasnt anything else I needed to do.
Hi Kyle, that should be enough. When you select the results slide option just make sure that you have also selected the results slide - I think it selects it automatically if you are just using one results slide in your course, but if you have more than one then you need to select which one you are using to pass the score to the LMS.
Unfortunately, there’s no way to email quiz results easily, accurately, and consistently. For example, if you use Gmail or your computer’s security settings are high, you can’t email results. Also, you run the risk of learners tampering with results since they can access the email before it’s sent. Given these limitations, we decided not to include the email results feature in new products. So with that in mind, I'd suggest following suggestions from the community such as in the thread Michael linked too.
Help - how can I send individual Q&A responses to my LMS to allow me to determine effectiveness of questions created i.e. out of 100 users 30% answered x question correctly and 70% incorrectly.
I have a results slide and the functionality is working in my LMS in terms of completing the course on achieving the right score however I need to see analysis on the question bank itself and can't seem to get this out of my LMS assessment. It is definitely possible however this is the first time I've pulled the module together myself and I don't know how to do this. Any advise very much appreciated!
So for some reason anytime one of my users reviews their answers then returns to the results slide my LMS seems to be recording this as an additional quiz attempt which isn't ideal from a recording stand point.
The only thing I can think of is when the user is returned to the results slide after reviewing their answers the "Submit Results" trigger sends new information each time, which the LMS records as an additional attempt (This could be completely wrong).
Anyway, has anyone else had this issue before or could help out at all?
I can see that you’re still struggling with LMS reporting since you reached out here and in this other discussion. I’d love to help. Can you take a look at the questions I asked in the other discussion? We can keep the conversation going over there!
My company uses Skillsoft as our LMS and I am having trouble with the "course/quiz" showing as completed on their end. They said it was due to the course not having a competition result and said to check my file. I have checked my file and from what I can see, I have "Complete" trigger and an "Exit" trigger. Has anyone worked with Skillsoft before?
I've attached the file just in case it's easier to see what was created and if I missed a step.
Are you looking to see the users' score in Skillsoft as well? If you're tracking by the complete course trigger, we won't send the quiz results too, as Storyline will only track/send one completion status. I saw you had a quiz and results slide in there, so you may want to confirm with Skillsoft what you should be using to pass completion to the LMS.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your assistance and guidance. I am hoping that someone from Skillsoft will be able to assist. I will provide your feedback in the hopes of getting more clarification from them.
I have a quiz I'm working on but in the trigger to submit results, it is remaining as "unassigned" and won't let me assign the quiz results slide. Any ideas why?
Thanks for responding. I closed Storyline then opened it again the problem went away. I've noticed that happens from time to time -- where Storyline can be a little finicky.
I had to remove the "Submit Results" trigger before reviewing for LMS reporting purposes. The results slide calculates and indicates the score (and whether they were successful or failed) but when I trigger a review, the questions are all shown as "wrong" with none of the user's answers shown.
We can help! It would be easiest to take a look at your project to get a better understanding of what you've created. Do you mind attaching the .story file to this discussion or uploading it privately in a support case?

Thank you Nancy and Andrew. I wonder if there is any way to modify this trigger to compute other results with the existing and other variables?

Can you have the results submitted to an email? If there isn't an LMS?
See this thread here for info.

This looks very similar to the question being asked here: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/question-bank-analysis-in-lms-how-do-i-activate-this , for anybody that wants to follow along.

I've attached my course if that helps...

Hi Nancy
I published your course to LMS and uploaded to SCORMcloud to test it. I passed the course and the Completed course flag displays.
Hopefully someone who uses Skillsoft may be able to shed more light, however your SL file appears to be setup correctly.

Hi Theresa
hard to say without seeing your file. Can you share it? If not,
Thanks for responding. I closed Storyline then opened it again the problem went away. I've noticed that happens from time to time -- where Storyline can be a little finicky.
I am having an issue with reviewing my test.
I had to remove the "Submit Results" trigger before reviewing for LMS reporting purposes. The results slide calculates and indicates the score (and whether they were successful or failed) but when I trigger a review, the questions are all shown as "wrong" with none of the user's answers shown.
Any suggestions to fix this?
