I use IE11 and have just published a SL2 LMS file. Suddenly, I am getting white side bars. It's only on this one file, which of course, I have to send out for testing tonight. I've double-checked that my publishing/story size settings match those in another problem-free file, but nothing is helping. Please help!
Do you have player elements that are not being displayed on particular slides? If so, the player spacing is still accommodating for them overall and you can see the sizing that the player will add to your course as described here. Go into Story View and double check each slide's properties. One of them may have something enabled like Menu or Notes that is displaying as that side space. In other words, even if you don't have the side panel Menu or Notes selected in Player Properties, if it is enabled in one of the slides, Storyline will create space for it.
If you've checked all your slides and they're set up correctly and without the extra space, are you able to share the .story file here so that we can take a look?
that's a brilliant idea. I will check the slides right now and respond with the outcome. Thank you so much for responding...I was feeling kind of alone for awhile!
You are amazing. That was exactly it! Is there a way I can revise the Player defaults so I don't have to do it on every slide? Specifically, I'm not using the Resources tab and would like to be able to remove it completely. Would I delete it from the Features panel in Player properties? Thank you again!
if you open your file in Story View, CtrlA to select all slides then in the bottom right hand corner you should be able to check/uncheck the options you want in slide properties that will apply to all slides.
If you set your player features eg. menu, resources have ticks in the player - they are considered the player defaults.
You'll see in Storyview in the Slide properties panel where this option is available and you can select all to have the player defaults.
If, however you have a special slide where you want the Notes tab to display but only for that slide - you would use the down arrow on that slide to select the 'custom for selected slides' option and then check the Notes box.

Wendy to the rescue again! Thanks so much!
I have to give all the credit to Wendy on this one! She answered a similar thread in the past and made my job easy!
