We have recently switched all of our presentations to 16x9 and it is messing with all of our templates. Would anyone happen to have any ideas or tips on how to nicely create a template for images and content?
Here is a helpful article on Changing the Browser Settings and Player Size.
I will defer to the community on information on setting up and creating templates, and popping into the General Discussion forum may be beneficial as well as there are more 'design' related topics there.
I am in the process of doing this exact thing and have already converted a number of courses, one tip that I have discovered is to un-select Scale To Fit and select Fill Background. This won't resize your content so you can choose to do it how you like after the resizing is complete. Conversion from 4:3 to 16:9 makes all content look 'fat' and typically that isn't at all what I want so I find it ultimately faster to make the content conversions manually.

You probably need to rebuild the templates for 16:9 I haven't found any easy way to convert content without the aspect ratios getting distorted
