Tab Interactions not working when published in the LMS

Apr 11, 2013

I have a few tab interactions in my courses.  They work perfectly for me - both while in sToryline and when I view them when they are published on the LMS.  For the learners they wouldn't work - they actually couldn't stay on the slide - they were just pushed ahead to the next one.  We thought it was a flash player issue - so that was updated and then it worked.  But now it doesn't again.  Any ideas?

Hi Trisha,

Sounds like the problem is system-specific. Is this happening for all of the users that are viewing the course, or only a few? Are you able to find out what web browser they're using to view the course and what version of Flash they're running?

You may also want to suggest that they clear their browser cache before trying to view the course again.

Thanks!

It is strange.  There are two tab interactions in the coruse.  For one user one worked, but the other didn't.  For another user, both worked fine.  For a third user, it all worked the first time, but then we she went back in it didn't.  One other user was having issues at first, then it worked, but now it doesn't again.  They are using Internet Explorer and Flash is either 10 or 11

Hi Trisha,

Thanks for the information! Hmm, so they are using the same browser. Any chance you could have them try in Google Chrome or Firefox? It would help narrow it down a little if they can test this out, just to confirm it's an issue with Internet Explorer. Also, did they have a chance to clear their cache and try the course again?

Here's some download links for the browsers, just in case they're able to try it out:

Download Google Chrome

Download Mozilla Firefox

If they see similar behavior in the other browsers, it may be an issue with the machines they're using. If they do not, it's most likely a problem with their version or settings of Internet Explorer.

Let me know how it goes, Trisha.

Thanks!

Christine
