Tabbing to links creates extra boxes

Nov 04, 2021

Across several projects, I am having issues with the highlight box when tabbing to the text that contains hyperlinks. Some of it works fine, with other text, it creates extra boxes that don't always line up with the hyperlink, or needlessly highlights non-hyperlink text.

For instance, I have a link within some bulleted text, and there are several boxes that appear to parts of the whole bullet when tabbing. I have attached a slide file where this is happening.

I can't figure out what is going on, because when I remove italics, the bullet, and just about any other variation within the text, I can't always get rid of it, even when I type the same string of text + hyperlink in a different text box.

Hi Jeremy!

Thank you so much for attaching your project! I've tested your course on my end, and I'm also noticing there are extra boxes that seem to only go to the punctuation. I've started a case on your behalf so that our Support Engineers can test your project and find what is getting in the way. You'll hear from them via email.

Hi, Michelle!

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you've hit this snag!

I'm happy to help troubleshoot to figure out what's going on. I took a look at Jeremy's support case, and it appears that the issue they had was specific to their course file. When our Engineer tried copying their text into a new file, the issue persisted, but typing the text from scratch worked as expected.

If you're comfortable sharing your file, I'd like to test it out to see if I experience the same result. You can upload it here or share it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!

Hi Kelly and thanks for your speedy reply! Unluckily, we aren't allowed to share our content without upper management approval as our material contains sensitive info, but my colleague decided to redo the entire slide containing these issues, and we verified that they are no longer causing problems. Thank you for being so willing to assist us! :)
