Template Application Clarification

Sep 25, 2013

Hi,

I've read up on how to create a template, apply templates to slides, etc but can't find the answer to my question.

I can't seem to figure out how to apply a new template to an existing project - removing the old template in the process.

Also, is it possible to build in the custom navigation (disable the Next button until the end of the slide) like mentioned here: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=cchsaumqs2v6 into my template so that all new projects inherit the same custom navigation scheme?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Jim and welcome to Heroes!

You can insert a new slide based on a Template at any time, or you can create a new project based on an existing template.  However, you would not be able to apply a Template to an existing project.

In regards to disabling the next button, that is a trigger which is created based on the individual slide, so it would not be saved as a part of the template. If you're looking to ensure that the navigation is restricted across an entire course, you may want to review this article which details how to make the change within a slide master.
