template not full screen

Oct 18, 2018

I created a template in Power Point and imported it to Articulate. Mid-build, I am noticing there is a white strip showing on the border as if my template is not the full size of the articulate slide, and the white articulate slide is showing a little. Any ideas how to fix this without starting over? See attachment-

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian!

You're in luck! There's an easy way to crop off that extra white space -- no need to start from scratch. Here's how:

  1. Start by determining what the slide size should be. You may need to open the original PowerPoint file to find out what the original slide size was.
  2. On the Design Tab, click Story Size. Then change the width and height to the desired dimensions.
  3. Select Crop. This crops your content to fit within the new size. If you choose this option, the Next button will become active. Click Next to define the crop area for each slide in your project. Drag the green box to indicate the portion of each slide you want to keep.

That's it! Now the background should fit the size perfectly, and you shouldn't see extra white space.

In case you'd like to see these steps in action, check out this short video tutorial I recorded for you!

Thanks so much. You made a video and everything? Cool. I had a hard time with the ratio's. On Power Point, it did not list the pixels but the paper size (8 x 11), and when I went to crop I could not crop on my own, and the auto-crop was not what I wanted. I ended up going to the master slides and I am going through each slide and dragging the picture to cover all the white.
