Ste p - to edit the file, double-click the .storytemplate you created. When the template opens, you can choose to insert one or more of the slides into a presentation. Make any necessary updates and save the updated file.
I don't think this question was ever properly answered. I'm wondering the same thing. I have a .storytemplate that I want to open. I don't want to import slides into a new storyline file. I want to edit the actual template. I've tried to go to the file, right-mouse click & choose open but it still acts like a template & asked me to import slides. How do you make changes to a template?
I've just discovered how to actually open a .storytemplate. From within Storyline, click Browse under Open a recent project. Browse to your template file wherever it is (mine is not in the default location) and it will actually open the template without asking you to import slides!
I navigated to my Templates folder, opened the file and it would still open as a new project. It was only when I selected Templates as the file type when opening the file that it opened as the template that I needed to edit.
