I've noticed that in my courses the text boxes keep changing size to go off of the slide. This typically happens after I've made published and made adjustments to another slide.
Can you share a bit more about how you're working on your courses and what version of Storyline you're using? You can check by going to the "Help" Tab -> "About Articulate Storyline".
As for working on the files, I'd want to make sure you're using local project files as working off a network/shared drive is known to cause some issues.

It could be related to working off a network - I used to try to do everything off the local drive and back-save to the network, but ended up with multiple times where I was away from work and a co-worker needed to access the project so now I primarily work off the network unless it is something big and complicated (Storyline has been behaving quite well straight off the network recently so I had hoped you had resolved any problems).

I have the same problem with no apparent reason. Sorry I can't help but I figure that by answering I at least move the issue back to the top.
