Text Entry custom submit keys with HTML5
Sep 14, 2015
Hi!
My work with Storyline primarily deals with software simulations. I often need to have users enter text into a field prior to progressing to the next slide. As such, I may ask users to type the word "Homework" into a text field. I have "Homewor" set as the acceptable answer and "K" set as the submit key. This method works fine when these simulations are run in their normal Flash version. However, this method does not seem to work when using HTML5. I think this might be a limitation or issue with HTML5. Have any of you had a similar problem? Will this be something that Articulate looks to fix.

Hi, Jeremy -- Thanks for your question! If you refer to this document on Comparing Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player Output for Articulate Storyline 2, you will see under the Player Section, that keyboard shortcuts are not supported in HTML5. The same is true under the Quizzing section with respects to Freeform: Shortcut keys.

Is there a workaround for this?
Hey Bruce...this should work fine now with HTML5 in Articulate 360. This post was from a couple of years ago. Let me know if you need help with this.
