Text Entry - text does not disappear when I click to enter my answer

Jul 27, 2017

I have a few projects that were made using Storyline 2 that I am now updating through Storyline 360. My project contains text entry slides. The text boxes contain the text "Click to enter text…" and previously when the user clicked into the box this text disappeared and was replaced by a cursor. Since updating to 360 however, when I click into the box the text remains until the first letter is typed.

Is there a setting I can change so that this text disappears upon the first click? I've attached one of the projects.

Hi Elise,

It looks like this only occurs in the HTML5 output (Preview is HTML5 too) and the Flash behaves the way you saw in Storyline 2? I'll share this with my team as a possible software bug.

From here, I’ll meet with my team to take a closer look so we can determine next steps. Sometimes my team catches errors in my logic and we don’t have a bug after all. Of course, if that’s the case, I’ll let you know!

In the meantime, your users would be able to use the Flash output and have it behave as you saw in Storyline 2 or let them know that once they start typing it'll wipe out the pre-filled text.

Depending on priority and risk, some bugs can be fixed quickly, while others take longer to resolve. Here's more information on how we identify and tackle bugs.

I’ll let you know as soon as we have an update on this issue. Thanks so much again for letting us know about this, and I’m sorry if it’s slowing you down.
