Hi. i'm having an issue. When I add a text box, or a shape with text to a new layer; the text will not show up in my preview. The only way I can see a yer's text is is if I make it a button. Can some one help? I'm quite frustrated.
First, make sure the text isn't hidden. There's a little icon with an eye, if that's closed, you won't see the text on the layer. If you need help finding this, let me know.
If you'd like, I'd be happy to take a look at the file. You can share your .story file here by using the paperclip icon in your response.
It's a rough screenshot but the image below should show you where the "eyes" are located. If it's closed (like the one shown in the lower right of the image) that layer or object is hidden.
You may need to click on the image above to see a larger version.
Ok, now I'm a little confused I'm seeing the text when I press the button with the trigger. Are you just wanting this text to show up all the time? If so, you'll want to set up a trigger that shows it when the timeline starts.
Let me know if this isn't what you're trying to do.
No. I only want it to show when you press the reading button. But when I put it in preview mode..it doesnt show up..nothing happens when I press the button.
What you'll need to do is set up a trigger on the button to show the text when clicked.
I'm attaching the single slide with the trigger in place. When you click on the "Reading" button, the test text should show up. Though, the text seems to show up over the button next to it - is that where you want it to come up? If you want it to show up in a different area, you'll need to either move that text or make another layer with the text in the position you'd like.

Hi Akela,
To add to Christine suggestion, can you also tell us what triggers the display of your layer?
Have a nice day and welcome to heroes.

I can't find the eye icon? Where would it be located?"
The eye icon will be to the left of the item on the timeline of the layer.

Ok that didn't work either. I did a test shot on slide 8. Can you check it?
