That Play button on mobile

Jan 16, 2024

Is there a way to get rid of the play button that appears on mobile? It just sends the content to some pop-up like full-screen mode that ruins the experience of the course. I use some interactions with rise 360 and this is very bad for user experience. I saw this

  • Fixed: Learners might see the course start page even though the first slide didn't have media.

on the December 13, 2023 (Build 3.83.31444.0) but I just tested with a file and the play button and full screen pop-up are still there.

Do I really have to spend hours hacking at this stupid bug feature?

Hello Bogdan,

Happy to chime in!

The "Play" button you see when opening Storyline 360 content on a mobile device is expected behavior for all versions of Storyline and not a bug. It's part of how the course needs to launch the HTML5 output due to the limited space on the device.

While we don't officially support this method, you can check out this solution which involves modifying the published output to remove the play button when your courses are viewed on mobile devices:

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hello Bogdan,

Apologies, for the confusion. I meant, mobile devices have smaller screens compared to desktop computers and laptops.

I also checked and can confirm that the link opens properly on my end. Would you mind checking again to see if it will work for you this time around? It might help to clear your browser's cache.
