The Mystery of the missing notes panel
May 11, 2015
Hi
I'm having a bit of trouble with my latest course design, originally I had a menu, glossary and a resources panel in the left hand side of the player. I moved the glossary and resources to the top-bar right location to instead include a notes panel in the left of the player but when I try to add this option in the player settings the option (checkbox) for a notes panel is no longer there.
I next tried implementing the notes panel through story view/custom for selected sides and selecting all slides, whilst the option was there when I ticked it the notes still did not display. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Stephen
which version/update of SL are you running? Have you tried repairing SL?

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your quick response I'm using Storyline 2, I was having trouble before and after the latest update this morning , I'll give the repair process a try and see if that resolves the issue.
Thanks
Looks like Wendy is assisting you here Stephen. If you still need assistance, please share your .story file so that we can take a look.
Hi, Thanks for your input Wendy & Leslie I eventually got my notes panel back by importing all the slides into a new project, sadly at the cost of my glossary, but it's just a bit of copying from old to new to put that right again.
Thanks
Stephen
Hi Stephen! Thanks for the update. For future reference, the glossary can be used in other projects as well.
I had as similar problem and when I went to View there was an option to REDOCK all WINDOWS and that restored my Notes section which had vaporized.
Yes Mike! Thanks for popping in to share. You may save someone in the future :)
To redock all panels at the same time, go to the View tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Redock All Windows.
