Time stamps on playbar of screencasts?

Oct 08, 2014

So here is my dilemma...I have created screencasts in Storyline using the video inserted into one slide method. Now the course is in its review cycle. When my reviewers find a mistake or something which needs to be addressed - how could they tell me where in the screencast the issue is located? In the past when i used Captivate, if you paused the screencast and clicked on the playbar - it would show you the time and they could record that time and describe the change to be made.

Is there a way to turn on a feature which will show the time on the playbar? I have looked i have a feeling there is not. Has anyone else had difficulty with reviewing single slide videos and did you find a creative solution?

Maybe this is different in Storyline 2? (I am still on Storyline 1)

I guess they could attacha separate document with screen shots but we were hoping to avoid that - partly b/c again there is no indicator for the developer on where to look for the problem in the screencast.

Thanks!

Regina

Hello Regina!

I am not sure if this is exactly what you need, but when you insert a screencast, you can go under Options, and check the box for Show video controls.

This will give a separate playbar underneath the video itself. When users click on this playbar, it will show the stop time next to it:
