When I insert an MP4 video into Storyline 2, the timeline does not extend to the video's length (I just inserted a 120-second MP4 onto a 90-second slide, and it did not change).
When the timeline is longer than the MP4, the video does not prevent me from dragging the timeline shorter than it.
I noticed that "Show Until End" is automatically selected when I insert it. Is there a setting to insert it at actual length?
I attempted to replicate this issue in a new file, however for me, inserting an MP4 extended the timeline to match the length of the MP4. Could you please ensure that you are using the most recent version of SL2, and you are welcome to provide your file here in you would like us to take a look.

Hi, Walt!

Thanks, Christie, I have the most recent version.
I'll make do until my looming deadline passes and then investigate further.
Thanks!
Hi Walt,
If the behavior persists, you'll want to make sure you're inserting and working with local project files as described here and you could also look at conducting the repair.
The project file is local. Do the files that I insert need to be on a local drive, too?
Hi Walt,
Yes, I'd work with local MP4 files as well.
