I have created content and have added triggers to use the next button. Unfortunately, the slides are still progressing before the next button is pushed. I removed slide transition triggers that I saw, but I am still having an issue. This presentation was imported from ppt. Could that be part of the problem? How do I make it stop?

Hi Cynthia and welcome to the community.
Have you set your slide properties (bottom right of screen) on the base layer to: Slide advances = Automatically? If so, change this to By User.
If this doesn't work are you able to upload your file so we can take a look?
