Storyline automatically sets a Start Frame and an End Frame. I know how I can change these, but how does Storyline determines the timing?

Hi Chris, welcome!
In Step-by-Step mode, I believe it's determined by where the recording is when the slide begins. Are you using Step-by-Step?
