Hi all Storyline experts - I work with Story files that have lot of images, text boxes, markers etc. I'm wondering if Storyline has a feature that gives me total number of such items (images, text boxes, markers etc.) in a Story file. Since I work with huge story files that have as many as 60 to 70 slides, counting these items manually is a cumbersome process. Do you know of any automated way to get this number from within Storyline?
If you Export the story, you'll get a Word file with a table that shows all the various text pieces -- each in a separate row. Counting the rows won't get exactly the numbers you seem to be looking for. For example, the Word file includes rows for Notes, plus scene and slide titles. And it doesn't include inserted images, or # of variables. But it's a start. The exported file would also allow you to get a word count.
Thank you for your inputs Judy. I'm already using this option of exporting the text into a word file. But as you said, this doesn't give me the count of images. And my projects usually have lot of images.

I don't know of anyway, out of interest why do you need to know the number?
Hi Phil, I need this number for preparing some reports for my org.

Hi Nagendra,
I don't know of any other way to do it within Storyline but I'll be curious to follow this thread in case someone has a creative idea.
Hi Ashley,
It will be great if you can build this feature in storyline. I need the word count to make an estimate of the cost and timing for translation work.
Thanks,
Tina
