Tracking - View one of three options

Apr 30, 2014

Hello!  I've been thinking this through for a few hours, and reading other threads by I need some help to put all the pieces together.

I am working on a module with 10 scenarios (one .story file). Each scenario has an option to either watch a video, complete a simulation, or read the steps/text. There are no quizzes.  I can not track by slides viewed because the videos are 1 slide each, steps/text maybe a slide or two each and obviously the simulations are many slides. My internal client would like a scenario to "mark complete" as long as the learners complete one of the three options, for each scenario.

Hope that all makes sense!

How can I set this up to best track completion?

I thought of changing the Main Menu slide to a Results slide but it is set up currently with a list of the 10 scenarios and then a layer for each scenario with the three options.  Can results slides include layers and still be tracked?

I'm sorry I'm not able to post the file because of proprietary info but would greatly appreciate any thoughts!

Hi Carrie,

What about setting up a final slide in each scene that the user would see after completing either the video, simulation or read the text - on that slide, you could make it either a quiz slide (easy to track) saying something like I've completed this section and I'm ready to move on Yes/No - if they select No, it would redirect them back to the start of that scene and Yes would move them onto the menu to do the next one. You can remove the instances of grading or feedback layers so that it doesn't look like a typical question. You could then track those slides via the results slide.
