I have successfully imported the translations into my storyline file, done the required formatting, but now it does not want to publish or preview at all.
I just get a grey spinning wheel. I have 49 translated word documents. I dont have the option of going via xliff.

The first step is to save the file locally, either to your documents folder or on the desktop.
Secondly, where did you translate the course? Here's a step by step article on how to translate Storyline 360 courses.
