Trigger issue?

Hi, I downloaded a template recently. It displays a view of a desk from overhead with a laptop on the left, a pile of papers in the middle and three Post-its on the right. The Post-its are each linked to a different layer, which work fine. I added a fourth Post-it and triggers to a new layer. When I clicked on that image in Preview, the desired layer text appeared along with the base text. All four Post-it triggers appear to be set up properly. How can I fix this issue? Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul, So on the first read of your post it sounds as if everything is working fine. Is there a trigger not working correctly?
Hi Richard, the fourth trigger isn't working correctly, although it appears that I set up the trigger correctly.
Would you mind creating a file with only the non-working slide in question and posting it here?
If the desired text shows, it is likely a layer issue, not a trigger issue. When new layers are created, they are completely transparent. You may need to put a large rectangle filled with the desired background on the new layer below all your text. Alternately, you can set it to hide the base layer, but that sometimes brings its own set of problems.
Hi Paul! Looks like you are getting great assistance here :) If you need us to take a look, please feel free to share.
Hi folks, my apologies for the delay. I've attached the trigger in question. Let me know what you think. Thanks a lot, Paul.
If the desired text shows, it is likely a layer issue, not a trigger issue. When new layers are created, they are completely transparent. You may need to put a large rectangle filled with the desired background on the new layer below all your text (or a smaller one to hide part of the base layer). Alternately, you can set the layer to hide the base layer, but that sometimes brings its own set of problems.
Hi Paul, Walt is spot on. Looking at your file, you set up the trigger correctly. You'll need to set up objects on your layer (perhaps with a transition) to seamlessly make the layer's content appear correctly. See attached.
When you work on a layer, it helps to show the base layer, too. That way you can see how it will appear in the end. Another hint is that if you have multiple layers, you can check them all to show while you are working, if need be. Here is where you show or hide them.
I got it by adding a layer. Thanks again Richard and Walt.
Awesome! Thanks for the update Paul :)
