Trigger to a section of video from a feedback page

Feb 25, 2023

This question was asked a few years ago, but never really received an answer that was posted. I haven't tried this yet, but only want to better understand the capabilities of Storyline 360 so I can more efficiently create a module.

I am creating a video, inputting it into Storyline with quiz questions within the video.  I would like to create a trigger on the "try again" feedback slide that will take the user back to only a segment of the video.  I understand that it can take them back to points in the video using cue points, but I'd like to have them watch only the relevant segment of the video and then have them get taken back to the question again so they can re-take that question. I don't want them to have to watch the entire video after the relevant part is shown.

I'm thinking that an "If, then" would work, but I'm not as adept at variables as I'd like to be yet. Can you help me with this part? Or do I need to cut the video into clips and make triggers that go to the relevant video clip slides?

Thank you

Hi Deedee,

I love the idea of jumping back to the point in the video to review after getting a question wrong! To achieve this, I would recommend splitting the video into smaller clips and adding them to the slide that the user will revisit if they click “Try Again.” Here is an article to help you with video editing in Storyline.

Thanks for reaching out!
