Trigger Wizard Disappears

Jun 03, 2021

I'm trying to add a trigger to a button. The Trigger Wizard pop-up shows itself, I try to click on it and it disappears and doesn't respond until I press ESC. I've updated my Storyline. Then I uninstalled Storyline and reinstalled Storyline, restarted the computer...still the same. Here is an image of the pop-up and then the image of the "disappearing act" with only the words "Jump to Slide" remaining on the screen when I tried to select the options on the pop-up.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. I understand your frustration.

In order to better understand your specific situation, I have a few clarifying questions:

  • Are you using a multi-monitor/display?
    • If so, can you please try to disconnect the other display(s) and just use the default/single display and let me know if it fixed the issue?
  • Do you know if you are saving your files on your local drive?
  • Have you tried replicating this in a new .story file?

Would you be able to upload your project file so we can replicate on our end? We'd be happy to have our Support Engineers take a look at your file in a private support case if you prefer.

Thank you for this information, Jon. This is very helpful to know!

I'd like to recommend doing a repair of Storyline:

Storyline 360: How to Fix Unexpected or Erratic Behavior - Articulate Support

This article will walk you through the step-by-step instructions for repairing on Windows 11 or Windows 10 in order to resolve the erratic behavior.

Please let me know if this resolves the issues you have been experiencing.

I also wanted to add that it appears that the project file you mentioned uploading is not showing up in the forum. If you could please try again by selecting the Add Attachment button in a new reply, we can take a look at your file.

Thanks so much!
