Triggers work in preview mode but not after published

Jul 10, 2018

Hi all; I have a project that works perfectly in preview mode. I have several objects that are dragged into two different rectangles. Every time, I get the correct feedback, which is done by changing states: one trigger for good and one for wrong. Then a third trigger hides the object so they are not in the way of the next object. This third trigger is not working. The objects remain in the rectangle. I have this both offline and online

What am I doing wrong? Why don't they work when published? How can I fix this?

Thank you,

Guillermo

Hi there, Guillermo.  What version of Storyline are you using?  I'm wondering if there's a difference between the Flash and the HTML5 output of your course.  For example, Storyline 2 previews in Flash, but if your browser has Flash Player disabled, you might see the HTML5 output.

If you'd like to share your .story file here, or even your output link, I'm happy to have a closer look!

Thanks Crystal. Believe or not, I asked my coworker about the problem and he said he's seen similar situations in the past. And sometimes uninstalling Storyline and re-installing it again, fixes the problem.

Well, I did that, and it is now working. It does not make any sense to me; it's the same version of Storyline 3.

Have you seen anything like that before?

I know an uninstall/reinstall is good for a lot of gremlins that may be lurking Guillermo, but that sounds pretty specific.

Are you working with local project files or from a network? That could cause some hiccups and erratic inconsistencies as well.

I have not heard of this particular issue, but I do appreciate you popping back in to share.
