True Text Size: Actual text settings vs. the boundary box?

Feb 28, 2013

Hoping some of the wonderful Storyline brains can help me answer an odd question.  Which is the true text size setting:  the size when the text inside the text box is selected or the size when the boundary of the text box is selected?  To help explain, I've added an image that compare the two.

For what it's worth, I do have my view set to 100%.

Thanks in advance for you help!

Hi Diana,

Thanks for confirming your zoom is set to 100%. However, I'm afraid that I don't see the same thing when I attempt to reproduce this behavior. The size displays the same for each on my end, whether I select the text or the border. This is also the case if I adjust the formatting for the text within the text box.

Do you have any formatting set in a Master, by any chance? If not, we may need to see what's causing this.

First, please be sure your system is running on 96 DPI. For information on how to do this, please see the following article:

Articulate Support > Storyline DPI support

If your system is already set to 96 DPI, please check to ensure you're using the most recent release of Storyline. To find this information, click on "Help" and "About Articulate Storyline". If you're not running version 2 (1212.1412), please download and install Update 2 from the link below:

Articulate > Download Storyline Update 2

If the problem continues, please create a new, blank Storyline course. Are you able to reproduce this in the new file? If so, please share the steps you've taken to format the text.

Thanks!
