Unable to adjust line spacing in scrolling panel that uses reference to variable

Apr 10, 2017

I have a scrolling panel that contains text from a reference to a variable that is set up  to 2.0 lines for text spacing. However, when previewed, the line spacing is not reflecting this setting. I am using SL360. Can anyone else replicate this?

Hi Michael,

It sounds similar to an issue we recently reported to our QA team, so I'd want to take a look at your .story file in question to see if it's the same behavior. Are you able to share a copy with us here?  You’ll want to upload the .story file here (which is the file prior to publishing) using the “ADD ATTACHMENT” button at the bottom of the forums reply window. If you’d prefer to not share in the public forums you’re always welcome to share with our Support Engineers here. They’re available 24/7 to assist!

It is most likely the same issue so I am looking forward to a resolution soon. I didn't want to share my original file so I threw something together that is very basic. It has two scrolling panels, each with a text-entry field that references a variable. One is from a slide master (on left) and the other is on a standard slide. I don't think the location of the scrolling panel matters based on the same results but the use of a text-entry field seems to be limiting formatting of the text. If you type in either one, you'll see the line spacing won't follow the 2.0 line setting that I applied.

Please let me know once they have fixed the issue. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where there was smaller line spacing on text with variable references.

Install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes. Here's how.

If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help!
