Unable to import course to LMS

May 18, 2016

HELP! I created a course using articulate storyline that is a very simple course. I have made close to 300 of these same courses but for some reason I cannot get this course to work! I've re-created it from scratch 6 times and I'm still experiencing the same error. A window pops up in my LMS that says the following: Screenshot of error

I can get the course to work in Scormcloud. I've called and talked to my LMS provider (Halogen) but we were unable to find any sort of solution. I have recreated the course from scratch, saved everything to my desktop (thinking it might be a filename length issue), and I continue to get the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've attached the .story and .zip files.

Hi Amanda,

I'm really sorry to hear about the error message you're encountering. I haven't seen that before, and since it successfully uploads to SCORM Cloud that's a good sign that the file itself is ok. Did Halogen have any information in terms of what that error may be referring too? Do they require that you use a particular SCORM output version such as SCORM 1.2 vs. SCORM 2004?

The error message mentioned a "idlog" file for details - was there anything in there that Halogen was able to use? If you're able to share that here perhaps other users who also utilize Halogen may be able to weigh in.

Tristan may be on to something - instead of using an addition period [ . ] as a part of your course title and file name, if you need to delineate the space you could try instead using DS5522_009.story which is typically how I look at naming my files regardless. Adding in extra spaces or periods could be picked up wrong by your LMS.

I found out the problem! Apparently Halogen has a character limit of 115 characters in their "keywords" area. So the problem was not with articulate at all. It was that the policy name and therefore course name were horrendously long and so Halogen didn't know how to process it.

Thank you everyone for your help!
