I have been attempting to publish to word using Storyline 2 and keep getting the following error message.
The publish menu box appears and begins to publish, but then either stays dim and I have to open the task manager to close it or the above error message appears. I have changed the name, path, and restarted my computer to no resolutions. Any help is appreciated.
Do you know if you have admin privs on your PC or laptop? And, to verify, you are publishing locally correct? You are not publishing to a network drive, by chance?
I am having trouble publishing my Storyline 2 project to word. Everytime I try, it goes through all the motions and it seems like it did publish according to storyline. But the folder created is empty and I get the following message:
I haven't seen that error message before - but when you say the folder is empty, what folder are you publishing to? You'll want to make sure you're working on local files and that their files names/paths match the information outlined here and that you publish to a local drive.
I submitted the issue to Articulate Support. It seems the file was somehow corrupted. the work-around I used though was to import the project into a new storyline project and then publish from there.
Just wish I knew what caused the corruption to the file, since I never moved it from the C: drive.
I'm glad that our Support team was able to get you set back up with your files. Corruption issues are hard to isolate, but in addition to the .story file being local you'll want to check any other project files that you've included in the .story file in addition to the elements I shared in the article above about file paths and file name as well.

Hi!
This old thread might help: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/15378/124185.aspx - especially look at Phil's solution.
No luck with that solution Gerry
Aww, rats.

I do have admin privileges and I am publishing locally
I haven't ran into this issue in the past, could it be something with the Storyline 2 upgrade?
By chance is your path to the publishing location on your PC (including the name of your Word file) greater than 255 characters?
And here's another possible solution - http://community.articulate.com/forums/t/50828.aspx
The solution you provided worked! I opened a new story project and imported the .story file and that resolved the issue.
Thanks for your help Gerry.
NP. I just got lucky in my searching.
Glad you got a solution. All the best.
