Unhide objects on quiz retry (drag and drop slide)

Jul 20, 2021

Hi,

First time making a course.  I used the tutorial to create a drag and drop where the object disappears once dropped.  Problem is, I have the course set to retry if they do not get it all drag and drops correct.  Then the slide does not reset the objects to their starting position or state instead they remain hidden.  Suggestions on how to achieve this please??  pdf of slide (note: missing object 4 details)

Many thanks

Hi Elaine!

I'm happy to help! It doesn't look like the PDF was attached to your reply. No worries, I think I have a good idea of what you've created so far. I'd recommend adding a Review layer to determine what the learner will see when they review the quiz questions.

Here's a quick 2-minute demo where I've explained how to build a Review layer to show objects that are hidden on the base layer.

If you'd like me to look at your project, you can attach it to this discussion or upload it privately in a support case.

Hi Lauren,

Thanks so much for your response!  I apologise for the delay in responding.  I tried to understand your suggestion but being a complete beginner I'm a little confused re the Review layer and how that works. I have uploaded the slide.  Would greatly appreciate if you could assist me again :-)

Thanks so much.

Hi, Elaine.

Thank you for sharing your .story file!

I noticed you have your attempts set to Unlimited:

If you want the user to keep trying until they get the answer correctly, then it's easy to achieve what you're looking for:

  • Right-click the base layer to go to the Slide Properties, and change When revisiting to Reset to initial state.

  • On your Try Again layer, change the trigger to Jump to slide this slide when the user clicks Try Again.

I am attaching your file with those changes. Let me know if this works!
