Upon replay slide layer audio files play simaltaneously at beginning of timeline

Aug 05, 2015

Hello Heroes,

I am current;y experience an issue with having multiple audio files in slide layers. The issue is that upon the 2nd (or subsequent) launch of the layer all audio files play together at the beginning of the timeline as well as in proper sequence. The effect is that when the slide layer is replayed, the first 10 seconds (roughly) is composed of all the audio files (which are each roughly ten seconds) but once the longest of which is completed the normal progression of audio files is all that can be heard.

Unfortunately, I can't share the content publicly here but a timeline diagram would like the following for the layer's first play and then any subsequent replay.

1st Play:

[----------Audio 1-----]

                                     [------Audio 2-------]

                                                                        [-------Audio 3--------]{End of timeline}

2nd Play:

[----------Audio 1-----]

[----Audios 1,2 & 3---][------Audio 2------]

                                                                        [-------Audio 3--------]{End of timeline}

If any one has also experienced this I would eager to hear. Please also note that the slide layer is set to "Reset upon revisit" so they can be repeated and the overlapping audio does not belong the base layer, which is paused while this layer executes.

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Hi Leslie,

The audio files of concern all belong to one slide layer. I mentioned at the end of my post that the base is paused while the layer is shown; other slides layers are also hidden. Although the base layer has its own audio files to play I can clearly hear that the sound that plays only belongs to the one slide layer that I have described.

In my storyline project, this issue appears in several instances only when there are multiple audio files in the slide layer.

I have not seen another post mentioning this, unfortunately.

Hi Leslie,

Thank you for pointing me to that thread! I am using Storyline 1, yes. There are so many discussion on this site searching can be difficult. The fix they described: Using the Stop Media trigger on the timeline start seems to do the trick.

Glad to hear this doesn't seem to be an issue for Storyline 2.

Thanks for your help.
