URL Updates - Scripts?

Nov 21, 2022

I have a resource that is being used within my Articulate storyline courses that is being retired causing all me "Resource" menu options to break. Is there a way that I can do something automated to replace old resource URLs (used in both resource menus and embedded trigger links on pages) whereby I do not have to open >300 course objects individually and update manually?

At one point I was asking if we had the capability of doing an import/export feature like we do in the glossary and nothing ever got implemented. It would certainly be useful now!

I don't think there is an automated method of changing links.

If the courses are published, you can replace the file in the published (but probably not the zipped) folder.

Find it in the story_content/external_files folder. Replace it with one with the exact same name and type, and it will work.

There may be some disk managers out there that will do a mass replace, but if not, a .bat (batch) file will certainly automate the process.

If you don't have the unzipped published version, you may have to unzip, replace, and rezip. There are probably some apps that can perform a mass extract and zip.
