Use a Video for Multiple Software Simulation Types

Apr 14, 2021

Hi Articulate Team & Community!

Can a single video be turned into more than one simulation type or do you have to record it more than once to be used as different types?

For example, if we want someone to watch a video of a process being done, and then try it or be tested on it after seeing it;

- Can the screen recording video be used as 'Video on a single slide' or 'Step-by-step slides - View mode Steps' and then also be turned into a 'Try mode steps' or 'Test mode steps' interaction? This way they can see one and then do one.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Philip.

Thank you for reaching out!

Yes, the beauty of Storyline's screen recording is that you can use it for all the different modes without having to re-record!

Once your first recording is done, you can choose it again from the list of videos (under Slides > Record Screen).

You will be presented with the options and will be able to pick a different mode to be used.
