Use playhead (manually) to synchronize my cue points

Jan 24, 2019

Hello all.

I'm creating an e-learning video.

So, first i upload the video and then i use the playhead (with my mouse) to go preciselly at a moment in my video.

When I need to display an information at a specific point I insert a cue point...

It WAS very useful until today...because now when I browse the timeline with my playhead, i can't see the "preview" anymore in my slide...(i just can see the white background)

I KNOW that there is the "edit video" option but to add the cue point it is not relevant.

Is there a link with the last update I did on Tuesday ?

It's URGENT please help me.

Hi Maxime,

First, you can always revert to a previous update following the steps here.

When using the timeline preview and playhead, there isn't an option to stop/pause it at a particular point. It's a preview of the slide as a whole, showing animations and timing of elements.

I'm not clear on what you meant about the white background, but perhaps you could share a screenshot or more details with us? You can also always share the .story file too - You can share it publicly here, or send it to our Support Team privately. We’ll delete it when done troubleshooting.

Hi Ashley,

Enclosed you will find 2 screenshots:

the first: i'm on the main page with my timeline below and my playhead is @10sec and there is no picture (freeze frame) on my slide. Until this week i did'nt have any problem to preview with this technique.

The second one is from the video editor to show that there is content to see.

See you

Hi Maxime!

I just did a quick test in Storyline 360 Update 24, and I'm seeing a similar problem. The playhead doesn't show the correct frame in the video. It only shows the first frame. Is the first frame of your video white?

However, I noticed it does begin to work correctly if you trim part of the video. Take a Peek at this video to see what I mean.

I'm going to share this with my team so we can begin investigating this behavior. I'll keep you posted on what I find out!

Hey Maxime. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 27 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and bug fixes. Here are all the details.

One of the fixes addresses an issue where the timeline preview wasn't showing the right video frame when moving the playhead.

Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
