Using a dial to control a slider
Jul 09, 2019
Hello! Sorry, I'm really late to the party here - I've never used them, but they'd be perfect for an interaction I'm wanting to make! The user will turn a dial to set the volume of a tube (represented by the slider - it looks enough like a ball in a tube to work!)
Just want to check I'm not missing something obvious - some way to make it better, or to nicely animate the movement...
I'm giving both the slider and the dial 6 points. And setting a trigger for each -
Set Slider1 equal to 1.00 when Dial1 changes if Dial1 is equal to 1.00
Set Slider1 equal to 2.00 when Dial1 changes if Dial1 is equal to 2.00
etc
Is this the best way to go about it? I'm not really familiar enough with either to know if I'm missing something! Many thanks :) x

You could assign the Dial variable to the slider. This way, you don't need any triggers. As the dial variable changes, so will the slider.
I found it (slider tools > design tab > slider properties if anyone else is looking!)
Thanks so much, that's spot on :D
I FOUND IT! Hah, I never spotted that before - brilliant, ace, thank you!
