Using Roboto typeface

May 22, 2017

Hi all,

I have two colleagues in my department both working on language versions of a course. We are experiencing some strange issues with the spacing of the font when opening the course on either machine. On one machine, the text is laid out as intended, whereas on the other, the spacing looks to have increased, consequently pushing the text off screen/out of text boxes.

Both our guys are using exactly the same font, and have exactly the same DPI settings set on their machine. This problem is not occurring with any other font other than Roboto.

Can anyone provide any further support on this?

Hey Alyssa!

What version of Storyline are you using? They are using version number - 12: 1705.520 of SL2.

Are both colleagues working from their local hard drives? yes.

Does this odd spacing happen in any file with Roboto font, or just the one file in particular? We have tested another file, and it appears to be working fine. So I would yes, it's just one file in particular.

Thanks

Thanks for the update, Alex! Good to know that it's not happening in every file.

Regarding the text that is spaced incorrectly, was it copied and pasted from another application like Microsoft Word? If so, it may have copied some wonky formatting over. Try copying the text into Notepad (which will remove any formatting), then copy the text from Notepad back into Storyline.

Let me know if that helps!

Our team is having the same problem, with the same font - using the same version (update 12). We tried this fix and it didn't work. We manually scaled the font a half size down and they flow properly after that. It seems as though Storyline is randomly increasing the font size (but that's not reflected in the ribbon settings).
