Using shift to constrain direction while moving an object

Feb 07, 2020

Holding the shift key and clicking and dragging an object constrains its movement to vertical and horizontal, as one might expect.

If you rotate an object to anything other than 0°, this no longer works -- the object is moved freely whether holding shift or not. To me, this was not expected behaviour. Is this by accident or design?

Hi Douglas,

Thank you for reaching and sharing what you are seeing!

After following the steps you provided, I am showing the same results. This is not intended behavior, and I have notified our team about what is happening. I appreciate you letting us know!

Once an issue is reported, here's how we tackle it. We're careful about testing new updates to make sure we don't put other features at risk, and I don't want to commit to a timeline before we have a fix finalized. You're in the right place, and we'll be sure to provide an update on this as soon as we can!
